Welcome to Invercargill Middle School.

Our school vision is “E Tū Atu Nei – Stand up, stand strong, and be proud.”
This vision sits at the heart of everything we do. We nurture and encourage all of our tamariki to grow in confidence, resilience and pride in who they are.

Our values guide us to be IMS Learners. An IMS Learner:

We are committed to supporting every student to fulfil their potential, to feel a strong sense of belonging, and to actively contribute to our school, our community, and wider society. This is achieved through high-quality teaching, where our teachers use teaching as inquiry to continually reflect on and strengthen their practice. Our learning environments are culturally responsive, safe and stimulating, motivating students to engage, learn and succeed.

Strong partnerships with whānau are important to us, and we value open, ongoing communication. To support this, we use a range of established digital platforms. Through Seesaw, parents and caregivers can connect directly with their child’s classroom, view learning moments throughout the day, and see work shared in real time. Seesaw also provides a direct and easy way to communicate with your child’s teacher.

We operate an open-door policy and warmly welcome you to come in, connect, and meet with our friendly staff. Together, as a school community, we believe it truly takes a village to raise a child.
